    Must say I’m very encouraged to hear this. The web is saturated with all these conflicting, overcomplicated regimens and theories. I’ve always thought it seems only logical that if you’re simply stimulating and providing adequate protein to repair muscle, you’re body will consume its fat reserves (aside from extreme examples) while still building that muscle. Personally, when I lift my body responds with gain, regardless of whether I’m at a caloric deficit or not – long as I have fat to consume.

    @MyGrassroots by creating a calorie defecit dont mean you have to burn off 2000 calories a day, im sure you know 3500 equals 1 pound. you burn 7000 calories a week, you lose 2 pounds a week, your saying 2000 calories a day, add that at the end of a week and you basicly lose 4 pounds. thats to much and not safe,

    thanks alot !
    i was like six month on a 1500 calorie diet and i lost 20 kilo of fat(from 105.5 tot 85.5). But now im getting a lil bit small on the arms. A friend of mine wants me to eat 2200 calories a day to build muscle but i still got to lose like 10 kg of fat. I couldtn sleep this week, bec i was afraid that if i’ll eat 2200 i will gain weight. But now i can start back to eat 1500 calorie and build muscles :D .
    thank you

    That’s very interesting!
    I do have a question: I understand that your body will use stored FAT as fuel when you don’t have enough calories in your stomach to burn. But what then, triggers the body to start using MUSCLE as fuel? I always read in muscle magazines that when we sleep, our body has to use muscle for fuel… why won’t it use fat instead?

    Someone that burns …
    Someone that burns 2000 calories a day, but only eats 1500 a day, wont necessarily lose weight. Yes, this is the basic for fat loss, but the quality of the foods is ALMOST as important as how much you eat. Hypothetically speaking, if most of those 1500 calories are simple carbs, your going to lose muscle and start storing fat. Also, cardio is a joke for fat loss. You can run 2 miles or just not put Mayo on your sandwich…Fat loss should be 70%nutrition and 30%weight training.

    I recorded every calorie for 2 weeks, I don’t care if it was creamer in my coffee–I wrote it down. Then I took in 400 calories less (ate less), and worked out more— this caused weight loss. Steve rocks!

    @devinc277 if your …
    @devinc277 if your weight is staying the same week after week than that means the calories your taking in equals the calories that are being used. So simply increase your activity a little or slightly decrease your calories or do both and you will now be at a slight caloric deficit. 300-500 calories in that range is perfect.
