Certainly if you eat less you lose more weight? Hardly, because by starving yourself (and that is what you are doing if you skip meals) you are simply setting yourself up for failure.
The true secret to losing weight is to eat regular portions of the right foods instead of eat less of the bad foods. Even the fad diets that allow you to eat breakfast but demand you limit the intake of calories are doomed before they start because unless you’ve had your energy requirements personally worked out by them, how will they really know how much energy you are going to burn during your working day.
Eating the proper foods means you can eat regular sized meals without the fear of adding on weight and the best place to start is the first meal of the day – breakfast.
You will want to be having a high protein, low carbohydrate tasty breakfast which will ensure you don’t crash mid morning. The typical American breakfast will usually be a cereal, toast, english muffins and such like. These are all packed with carbs which guarantees you give yourself the worst possible start to the day.
These unrefined carbohydrates will raise your sugar levels and give you a buzz but by 10am you will be feeling sleepy as the sugar levels crash and your body will be needing its next hit so you give in and grab a candy bar “just to keep you going.”
This raises your sugar levels again and the cycle continues – by lunch the cravings are back. This is why most diets don’t work, eating reduced amounts of high carb foods simply increases the urges because now, not only are you needing your next carb fix – you are also hungry!
Eat a high-protein breakfast and you simply will not have these snack urges and you certainly won’t be hungry. Are you beginning to see the importance of breakfast for those trying to get their weight down?
A large dish of ham and scrambled eggs will leave you feeling full but has nearly no carbs and instead is totally full of protein. This will kick start your metabolism so your body gets to work consuming calories. You will be better focused, more alert and have higher energy levels which will keep you going right up to lunch and often beyond.
If you want to lose pounds forget calorie counting – start your day off with a high protein breakfast that doesn’t leave you needing more and watch the weight drop off.

Here are the best foods to eat for a flatter stomach and a fast six pack:
Whey Protein – Whey is an easily digestible source of protein that may be consumed post workout or as a mid day brunch. Whey can be stirred into smoothies for a healthy breakfast, post workout drink or mid day break. Make sure you don’t buy the concentrate protein powder though as it is a lot less effective.
Healthy fat – Sounds like a joke, right? You would like to lose fat not eat more of it. However , study after study has shown that folks whose diets are rich in ‘healthy ‘ fats are more healthful.
We’re talking about fish, flax seeds and tropical oils like coconut, palm and olive oil. These foods contain omega trans acids which are great for reducing soreness and enhancing your body’s functions.
Here are a couple of other healthy, flat stomach, foods to keep on hand:
* Eggs – a fantastic source of protein and at the heart of any quality six pack diet plan
* Salsa – an easy way to jazz up numerous meals and a serving of vegetables
* Peanut butter and whole nuts – healthy fats and rich in protein
* Veggies, – enough said. They fill you up, provide heaps of required vitamins and are very good for you
* Vinegar and oil salad dressing – to dress those vegetables if you are that way inclined. Instead of buying it, try and make it yourself using olive oil and balsamic vinigers. Just mix to taste
* Beef steak is packed in nutrients and low fat.
Having a nice looking six pack is about much more than looking attractive. It’s about improving your back, sides and ab muscles so your posture improves and in turn your overall strength and athleticism seriously improves.
