Its time to end the confusion. Some people fear carbs like the devil *cough* Atkins
Others are addicted to carbs and sugar like crack
Myself? I use my hit it and quit it philosophy to carbs to get leaner instead of fatter.
Lets check it out.
Keep it simple. Carbs are used for energy. The problem is most people eat too many carbs on days where they are NOT active. Instead days you work out and exercise you should consume more, days you do not need energy, you shouldn’t eat them. Simple!
Follow these three rules with carbs to get rid of those love handles and get some more love.
1. For weight loss only eat 100grams or less per day, I’d recommend 100 on work out days, 50 or less on non-work out days Never eat more than 30grams in a serving- The reason is simple, you don’t want to spike your insulin and store them as fat.
2. Timing: Eat them in the morning, and around your work out, avoid them late at night. At the start of the day is when you need your energy, not at the beginning, so why get it twisted?
3. What carbs to eat? Only eat carbs that are either vegetables, fruits, ancient grains (quionia, amanranth), squashes, low GI tubers, or beans and lentils avoid everything else. Yes including the bread.
Last Tip: Green Vegetables count as free carbs or zero calories. Seriously, no one ever got fat eating celery and they are WAY too healthy for ya. Look at the Green Giant, he’s got jacked and lean by eating green.
